Summer has well and truly been with us over the last month, at least in Britain it has. It has been glorious, everyone is happy, friendly, tanned and relaxed. Sure, all of the grass in the country is dying a slow and brown death, but we sort of don't really care. This year we've actually had proper seasons! Like snow in winter and actual SUN in summer. So, as I think as we have a little sun left I thought I would put some of great activities you can do with your kids outdoors. These are all posts from the last year or so since starting this space. I hope a few inspire you and your kids this Summer.

We were made for the outdoors so enjoy!
Colander Nature Crown, is a fun way to talk about your local ecosystem through the picking of nature in and around where you live. Create your own Colander Nature crown with flowers, feathers, twigs and more!
Old pots and pans? Don’t throw them away! Join us to make a Garden Watering Hole. Included is a Food Court AND a Splash Pad for the wildlife in your backyard. Our critters have been loving it. What’s not to love?!
Create a Secret Garden with your tree cuttings. Get your chores done AND entertain the kids simultaneously. Win, win!
All you need is a couple of plastic plant pots, a glue gun and nature. Go on a few walks with your Little Feet and pick up things you think would look cool on your fairy house. One of our favourite past times is looking for snails and finding the left over snail shells. So we had a lot of snail shells on ours.
I have been wanting to use them for an activity for a while and then it came to me one day when I was painting myself. I use watercolours when I paint, both a palette and inks depending on what I am doing. So water guns and watercolour inks was a perfect match!
There are so many types of wild flowers that grow around where you live. You only need to go look for them. Kids love the outdoors and generally need little encouragement to go outside, so this is just an extension of that activity. Take a bucket or tupperware, talk about the flowers as you pick them and what you could do with them once you get home.
Make inexpensive bird feeders with seeds and lard. Let your Little Feet pick the shape of cookie cutter and get making! The birds and squirrels will love them and they won't last long!
Everyone has recyclables in their house. It just comes with living in our world, whether for better or worse. Most countries require you to recycle most of your rubbish too. This activity is just a different way of utilising them for a new painting experience. All you need is rubbish, a glue gun and paint!
Have you ever heard of Kinetic Drawing?
It is kind of awesome. It might be a completely new concept for you. Artists use their bodies to create their art. Bear with me, I realise that sounds questionable.
CREATE A FUN PIECE OF ART AS A FAMILY THIS HOLIDAY IN OUR FAMILY THROW DOWN!
Car painting is a great outdoor sensory activity that any Little Feet will love to get stuck in with. If they like vehicles with wheels, then they will love the splatter of colour that appears!
