Eggs, eggs everywhere! Spring time and eggs are on the menu. So you may well be dying your eggs this year, like you may do every year in an annual tradition. If you fancy doing something a little different with your Little Feet this year then look no further then making your own DRAGON EGGS. Yes, that’s right, you heard correctly Dragon Eggs! Your Little Feet will gasp when they see the result when they are deshelled.
If you are an avid watcher of Game of Thrones then it is also happenstance perfectly timed to the final season being released this month. Every time Daddy Feet came into the kitchen while we were doing this he entered humming, ‘dum dum, dum di dum dum, daaaaa, dum, da di da dummmm, da di dummmm’. That’s the GoT theme tune fyi…
What I’m saying is that this fun activity is not only good for the Little Feet but for Big Feet too! It could be a great addition for a themed season commencement GoT party! You’re welcome.
So get involved, buy a 12 pack of eggs, mix up some food colouring and make your very own Dragon Eggs this spring time. Because, let’s be honest, there’s nothing much cooler then dragons.
What you will need:
Boil your eggs until they are hard boiled.
While they are boiling, in however many bowls as food colouring mix your colours as per the instructions on them.
Once your eggs have cooled down enough for your Little Feet to touch them get them to gently knock them against the table of work surface. Keep going until they are all cracked, all over.
Slowly lower the eggs into their coloured bowls and then place in the fridge for a few hours, or over night. We left ours in the fridge overnight.
Get them out of the bowls and slowly peel off the egg shells revealing the dragon egg within. Your Little Feet’s jaws are guaranteed to drop!
Eat them and display them. Perhaps even create a role play meal to have fun with them.
We would LOVE to see your pictures of all your dragon eggs, so be sure to tag us @the.rainbow.tree.blog on Instagram so we can have a look and share your precious creations!
